About:

Proposed by Nimisha Parmar and stimulated by Nimisha’s involvement in the Suits and Saris exhibition at the then New Walk Museum (2012), this multi-layered project involves sourcing cloth from local residents and businesses and making new pieces of clothing, on site with a group of sewers and presenting them as costume for Peepul Culture performances. Divya Patel has conceived a performance that highlights the demands of the fashion industry and addresses sustainability of both fashion and human activity.
